If Only you could Imagine

Imagine for a moment that you had a child.  Curious, creative, smart.  Eager to learn.  That’s not hard for many of you to imagine , I know, because you may have a child just like that.

I bet you’d want to ensure your child got the best possible education because you know, without any doubt, that education is transformative.  Education opens the door to the future.  

NOW, imagine that you lived a four-hour-walk away from the nearest secondary school  Imagine that there were no roads to drive your child there.  

AND imagine that your income was about $1 a day. 

Imagine that you can’t afford for your child to board near the school.  You can’t afford to give your child the gift of education.  

How would you feel?

There are families in the village of Solsing in Sindupalchowk who don’t have to imagine.  That is their reality. 

But, thanks to our donors….thanks to many of you…we changed this picture for seven kids: Sarita, Urmila, Chhiring, Dorje, Manmaya, Sabita, and Songmendo.  

These are children of Solsing who were starting class 8 this year.  And, they are the kids who have received a scholarship from Engage Nepal to ensure that they stay in school and have a chance at the future their parents have imagined for them. 

We are working in partnership with Miss Nepal World 2019 Anushka Shrestha whose passion and vision is driving a comprehensive development project for Solsing and with whom we are honored to work.
